Cooking Louisiana - Oyster Knife

Below are pictures taken at different angles of an oyster knife my Father made back in the 80's. My Grandfather (Jeff)  was an oyster shucker in New Orleans when Daddy was young. I'm going to assume Paw-Paw showed Daddy how to not only use one but make them too! Homemade kitchen utensils were not uncommon years ago.

Notice the hand carved indentions, they are there for a specific purpose. See Oyster Shucking here.

The pictures may take a minute to load please be patient.
