Anise Cookies
Recipe
3 eggs at room
temperature.
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons
white granulated sugar.
1¾ cup unsifted flour.
½ teaspoon baking
powder.
½ teaspoon salt.
1½ teaspoon pure anise
extract.
2 bottles multicolor
candy seed sprinkles. (tiny, tiny, round balls).
Grease & flour 3
nonstick cookie sheets.
In stand mixer bowl,
beat eggs 30 minutes on medium speed until thick & light.
(very important)
Gradually beat in sugar
continuously for 20 minutes.
On low speed, beat in
flour, baking powder, & salt. Beat 2 minutes.
Add anise, beat 1
minute.
Drop by teaspoon onto
cookie sheets ½ inch apart, lightly sprinkle with multicolor
candy seeds.
Let stand 8 hours or
overnight at room temperature.
Preheat oven 325 degrees
Fahrenheit.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or
until smooth when pressed with fingertips.
Store in air tight
containers or twist tie sealed bags.
